NevaDUHans Really Are Paying Less Taxes

The Repugs are getting their greatest wish: We in NevaDUH are paying less taxes. And the casinos should be elated as hell as they, too, are paying less taxes and can anticipate a tremendous government conventions boom coming soon. People are out buying new cars by the droves. Yucca no longer exists saving tons of taxpayer dollars. Our state finances are so good we need a new $180,000 position just to manage the money. Investors are gobbling up houses in Vegas. Carson City and Virginia City will be linked by a loco-motive again, not to mention the wonderful mag-lev waaay out there on the horizon. Reid is assuring us healthcare will be passed in his lifetime. And our politicos are raking in record numbers in campaign contributions to run against phantoms.

What? Me Worry? I'm just treading water until the 2010 election when we elect the same people to do the same thing all over again.

If you want to really send a message to your Senator or Congresscritter, then get off you lazy, empathetic butt and re-register as an Independent. That will get their attention!

Nevada's Newest Blog Will Become Your Next "Must Read"

My good friend and compatriot, Mike Zahara, has begun a new blog for Nevada and the U.S. which will rank #1 in no time at all. Mike appropriately calls it WatchdogWag.

Mike, as you may remember, was on the Nevada State Democratic Party Board when he started raising questions about party finances which made them very uncomfortable. This led to Jillo Derby trying to get him excommunicated for pointing out the infinite financial irregularities he discovered. Had it not been for a handful of people who stood up for Mike, Jillo would have succeeded. Now Jillo is just a bad memory and Mike keeps on working to ferret out those that are working hard to kill the party and feather their own nests with party money.

Since then Mike has taken another look at the Democratic Party as only an insider can do, and offers up his opinions on his blog with no punches pulled. I highly commend his new effort and admire his sense of responsibility when it comes to hanging our Dem dirty laundry.

Good luck, dude, and I look forward to some real ass kicking from you!

Even With 60 Majority Lardasser Fails Miserably

Showing yet again that re-election is more important than doing what Senate Majority Leaders are chosen to do, Wimpy Reid just wants to work harder on raising that $25 million than getting Americans affordable, universal healthcare. Hmmm...wonder if he he ever thought about the idea that he could get an infusion to "grow some" if there were better healthcare coverage. But then again, he has the best health coverage taxpayer money can buy so "What? Me Worry?"

Trigg Joins Sarah Palin and Quits

Just in from the Trigg Campaign HQ:

" Dear Family, Friends and Supporters:

"As of today, I am ending my campaign for Congress. This decision came
after a sudden series of unforeseen professional obligations that required
and will continue to require more of my attention than a campaign for
Congress will allow. As long as I sit on the School Board Trustees, school
board responsibilities are my priority, issues affecting our children in
Douglas County, advocating for our parents will continue to be and always be
my first priority.
While I believe that Dean Heller can be defeated next year, I cannot
dedicate the time required to mount a winning campaign. I stand ready to
assist the Democratic nominee in 2010 in pushing a message that Democrats
are the party of job creation, economic recovery, healthcare reform, energy
independence and most importantly to me education reform. I would like to
thank all the wonderful people who contributed and supported my short
campaign. I am forever grateful and hope that I can count on their support
if another congressional campaign is in my future."

Sincerely,
Cindy Olivas Trigg"

Please come to our barbecue this Saturday, at the Hollister Ranch, 2PM to
6PM, for Gim Hollister's world famous spit roasted beef, music, and to hear
Cindy Olivas Trigg speak as the President of the Douglas County School
Board.
"...if another congressional campaign is in my future"? Whatever....

I'd have to say the complaint by the AG for violating the Open Meeting law is what's really behind this subtrefuge for quitting.

Good luck to Mr. Reeves from Pahrump.

Repugs Hell Bent on Extinction

In the most amazing phenomena I have witnessed in 40+ years of watching politics and politicos, it seems apparent even to a one-eyed man that the Repugs are determined to keep to a path of self-destruction.

Some may think the phenomena began with the 2008 election and the vacuous personalities the Repugs dragged up to run as a quite comical P-VP tag team. Some could have credence that 43/Chainey was the real beginning of the end. And then there was 1992 with the Immoral Majority, Newt, and the infamous "Contract on America".

But if you examine the last 30 years with an objective overview, the beginning of the end really began with Ronnie Reagan - the one and the same idol/icon the Repugs want to return to today.

I remember those years well. There and then under Ronnie and the Kitchen Cabinet puppeteers we got involved in Afghanistan, the main byproduct being a personality named Osama bin-Laden we are still fighting to this day. And there was a trumped up war we created between Iran and Iraq - something that is still long from finished. Lest we forget, there was Iran-Contra where we swapped arms for hostages. And there was "Pineapple Face" Manuel Noriega as the dictator du jour. The so-called "War on Drugs" was met with an unprecedented escalation in drugs coming from Columbia, Mexico, and Afghanistan. Economically, the steel, computer chip, auto, and other industries went to East Asia. And the economy suffered a stock market meltdown that was quietly averted at the last minute.

Extinction, therefore, is a long, slow, and painful progress. For the record, I favor a two-party system of 'advice and consent' as promoted by the Founding Fathers but that part of our democratic republic went extinct long ago. I deeply fear a single-party system as it has shown to promote the Peter Principle on a frightening level as best exemplified with our own Harry Reid.

The aftermath of the Repugs extinction is going to be chaotic to say the least if Reid is to be the leader of the Dems. Yes, he is "long-in-tooth" as the saying goes but it is quite apparent even now he is setting up son Rory as his bloodline successor. I'm not referring to Rory's run for gubber. That is just a red herring to check viability. I am talking Reid running Rory against Enstench in 2012. Just connect the dots on the Enstench affair and it points to the Reid dynasty as the main benefactor in Enstench's fall.

If you stop and think about it, an unopposed 30-year incumbent thinking he needs $25 million for his 2010 race doesn't quite add up does it? There's something else behind this and I'll say it's seed money for Rory in 2012.

So, Dems out there that always vote the straight "D" ticket - be careful what you wish for; you just might get it and be swapping one set of problems for a bigger set.

Walter Cronkite Has Passed Away

No details as it was just announced on MSNBC. Yes, the same news corp that hires Pat Buchanen. Cronkite had more newsman in his toenail clippings than Buchanen will have in 10 of his miserable lives.

God speed, Mr. Cronkite, and thanks for a lifetime of memories.

It will be interesting to see how the media handles this v. the King who set his hair on fire.

More "Cin" Street Blues

Yup - just when you thought there couldn't be any more out of the "C" Street Playboy Club - up jumps another scandal. In a reverse twist of the Enstench affair, this time the mistress paramour gets the Congresscritter a job. In a 28-page "alienation of affection" suit it is alleged
The suit alleges that when Trent Lott resigned in 2007, Gov. Haley Barbour offered Rep. Pickering the seat. But the congressman turned it down after his girlfriend, Elizabeth Creekmore-Byrd, "insisted" that their relationship could not continue if he accepted the seat, as he would have to stay married for public appearances. She allegedly gave him an ultimatum, and he chose her.
Excuse me while I get a fresh barf bag...

In a story which is still developing, it seems that a certain person who ran for the Clark County Democratic Party 1st VP seat and lost by something like 400-1 is now threatening the person who won. More as this unfolds...

My friend Scandalmoner is wondering where Goober is presently. What I would like to know is who he took with him since there's no one left in the Mansion and who's paying for the trip. OK - stupid question. One way or others we taxpayers are paying.

Then there's Steve Sebelius pointing out how Goober wannabe Ichabod Reid is spineless which is probably a congenital defect in his genes.

What's this? Another Douglas County social experiment on kids to see how far they can be pushed before they crack? 24/7/365 drug testing was not enough; now they want to cram five days of school into four. Hmm...I don't see any time in there for kids to just be kids - an hyper-important part of growing up which even the dumbest of people should understand but evidently don't.

KNUCKLEDRAGGER OF THE DAY FOR INFINITY, Todd Tiahrt. I won't waste protons on what he said except for the headline:
Rep. Todd Tiahrt suggests Obama’s mother wanted to abort him.
Then there's unhinged racist Pat Buchanen who's as looney as the Clark County Democrat I referred to.

Step by Step...Inch by Inch...

....the U.S. may be moving at the pace of geologic time towards a healthcare program. In what is sometimes called the ad-vise and consent part of the democratic process (pictured), the anti-Humanity party is being dragged along despite its position that the sun revolves around Mitch McConnell. The best part is it will soak the rich to pay for it. Wait a minute here! If they don't pay taxes anyway - how's this goose gonna fly?

Jon Ralston knows the nine most feared words of the NevaDUH Repug party. Cute of him, eh?

NevaDUH needs a mag-lev (to Searchlight at least). I'd say let 'em build it to the NV-CA state line and then see how much CA wants it.

KNUCKLE BUMP OF THE DAY goes to Pres O
Obama refused to concede that point during his speech at Macomb Community College, where he said part of the answer to recovery is also in a new focus on community colleges. His proposed American Graduation Initiative would pump $12 billion into community colleges and add 5 million new graduates by 2020.
Then even School Board "Presidents" could begin a formal education which is badly needed.

KNUCKLEDRAGGER OF THE DAY is Mitch McConnell for no longer supporting Enstench (R-Any convenient mattress)
QUESTION: Senator McConnell, Senator Ensign has said that he will remain in office (inaudible) reelection. Do you support him in (inaudible)?

MCCONNELL: Well, I think Senator Ensign will have to speak to those issues himself. And you can ask him about it.
Nothing has really changed about Enstench except it's now open instead of a hushed Repug secret which it seems everyone with an R behind their name already knew about. A pal's a pal for life, Mitch, not just when he's promoting your agenda. With Reid being Enstench's best - and only pal - in NevaDUH, will he talk him into running as a "D"?

Enstench to Let Voters Decide

In a huge and collective sigh of relief that Goober da gubber might be allowed to appoint himself Senator, the shameless waste of skin we now have shows he does, too, love NevaDUH and is willing to forgive us in 2012. Enlisting Larry Craig and Mark Foley to co-chair his campaign, Enstench feels that broadening his base will provide a new base to whatever few he may have lost.

In another stench which will outlast Enstench, is there any real penalty for Bush and Chainey witholding all that secret stuff from Congress. Sen. Whitehouse on Maddow last night couldn't come up with any so we most likely have another Iran-Contra thingy on our hands where crooks go free because of high office. Or so says Dickhead's daughter.

When Lindsay Graham tells the SCOTUS nominee she's a slam dunk, it's time to piss on the fire and call inoff the dogs. But it would be a nice opportunity to hear her thoughts if the ignoramuses running the dog and pony show would stop with the pomposity and just let her speak. Oh, well, she can say a lot when she finally gets the robes.

Finally! NevaDUH is Near the Top in Something

WHOOPEE! We'e #2 and pressing hard. If only we could get Dickhead Chainey to move here we might could capture #1. Has anyone told him how good our chucker hunting is?

RC Files Complaint on Cindy Trigg with Attorney General

In a surprise revelation this morning, the Record-Courier newspaper has filed a formal complaint with the Nevada Attorney General over an (alleged) Open Meetings Act Violation by Congressional Candidate du jour Cindy Trigg. In a nutshell the basis for the case seems to be that Trigg collaborated with two other Trustees [sic] to (possibly) manipulate the review data for the renewal of a contract for her good buddy, Superintendent Lark.

Having all the formal legal training of (at least) graduating AA Stewardess College, Trigg defended the legality of her actions as "It's my prerogative.” Trigg and Lark you may recall in a post here are the vanguards who have rammed through a drug policy which is also inviting more litigation.

In other news which is sure to gather voters for Trigg's run for office, she is almost apologetic for her racist and culturally insensitive remarks.

At Lark's evaluation on June 17, Trigg warned board members that allowing insubordination against the superintendent could send the wrong message to employees and future superintendents.

“You can't let them think that the Indians are running the camp,” Trigg said at the meeting. (emphasis added)

Yes, here in Douglas County, having an opinion is "insubordination". Having 16 out of 21 opinions against the Superintendent is pure anarchy which must be quashed and Trigg, being Lark's "self-described supporter of Lark" will do whatever it takes to support her friend mentor who could easily be out the door come 2010.

There, folks of Nevada and CD2, you have have just two insights into the leadership "qualities" of this person who wants to be you next Congresscritter. However, this is just the tip of the martini glass.

Btw, it has been rumored that Trigg actually has a website for her Congressional folly so this blog is happy to advertise it for her. Too bad she has not posted on it for well over a month now. C'mon, Cindy, we're all on the edge of our seats to hear more about how you will change things when you kick Heller's butt.

Btw II, can some of you out there throw a few nickels and dimes her way? 46 supporters and $4 grand isn't near enough for a "Fully Disabled" person to go to DeeCee now that she has lost the Native American vote.

And somebody please report how the debate of the century goes. I have a feeling that Mr. Reeves is going to be able to expound at length without interruption by his "opponent".

"Too Big To Fail" Failed

After throwing a few trillion away on pure 43 economic policy Pres O is waking up and smelling the roses fertilizer. As noted in Street.com The Obama Administration wants the biggest of the big banks to start planning their own funerals. It seems there is some unforseen consequences in giving away all that money and the biggies are going to fail anyway.

And speaking of failing, 60 isn't near enough to herd cats. So Majority Lardasser is already saying he's going to fail when it comes to pushing any agenda except raising $25 million for his re-election.

Michael Jackson is going to be buried sans brain - that is if they ever get around to a burial instead of selling more videos or whatever it is that can be commercially exploited over his death. It seems the coroner wants the brain to harden so it can be sliced into sections and studied for toxicology purposes so it has to harden for a few weeks. Thankfully Harry Reid's brain is pre-prepared so his family will be spared this gruesome necessity.

"Mission Accomplished II" Anyone out there remember exactly what the mission was except to sink your own cruiser?

KNUCKLE BUMP OF THE DAY goes to Texas tea-baggers:
On Saturday, right-wing astroturf organizers held a number of sparsely-attended anti-tax protests in several locations across the country. At one such event outside the Texas Capitol, Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) was labeled a “traitor” and was “booed at the start and close of his remarks.” Later at the same event, Gov. Rick Perry (R-TX) “drew scattered boos, notably from crowd members aware of his advocacy of toll roads to relieve traffic congestion.
Maybe there's still some hope back "home" but I seriously doubt it...

KNUCKLEDRAGGER OF THE DAY and 2012 loser Mike Huckabee says:
George Bush inherited an economy when he became president back in 2001 that was already beginning to show real signs of the stress from the breaking of the technology bubble. George Bush didn’t go out whining and complaining every day,
Yup - he really, really said that...

Unconstitutional Drug Testing In Douglas County Schools

One would think that being "President" of a small school district in a small town in a small state would be something hard to royally screw up, right? Wrong, bucko; very wrong. When you combine total ignorance, a low education level, and unbridled ambition - anything and everything can go wrong. It could even lead to a case that could go to SCOTUS....

Back in May of this year, "President" Trigg et al. rammed through a new drug testing policy for Douglas County schools. Now kids can be tested 24/7/365, whether in school or not. But the testing is not for all kids in Douglas County schools; it's only for those who choose to participate in "extracurricular activities" which includes everything from sports to the debate team. In general these are the brightest and best of the student lot who choose to take on extra work and responsibilities to improve themselves and bring prestige back to their schools who have been singled out for drug testing.

Excluded from the 24/7/365 are "all other students". I won't paint this group with a broad brush and say they are the druggies and troublemakers but I do believe a lot of the drug problems in our schools could be traced to some in this group.

The problem which Trigg et al. have created (in my opinion only) is that she has discriminated against the class (i.e.: group, assemblage, section) of students who choose extracirricular activities by excluding all other students from random drug testing who do not participate in outside school activities. Discrimination case law precedent has clearly shown that discrimination against a class of people based on arbitrary and capricious standards (e.g., race, color, belief systems, extracirricular activities) in patently unConstitutional in its discriminatory bias. In a further point of discriminatory random drug testing policy, Trigg et al. rammed through was that only students in grades 9-12 will be tested foolishly assuming younger students are somehow immune to the dangers of drugs.

To absolve themselves of any question of illegal search under the Fourth Amendment, the Douglas County School District requires parents to allow for random drug testing if they want their children to be able to participate in outside activities. Quite clearly this "consent" is obtained under duress that if it is not signed, the child will be denied their provledges under the First and Second Amendments of free speech and assembly. Therefore, the "consent" is invalid as it denies U.S. citizens of other Constitutional rights.

As far as a search for drugs on a student goes, the same principles apply as for adults: A search must be reasonable at its inception, i.e., there must be ''reasonable grounds for suspecting that the search will turn up evidence that the student has violated or is violating either the law or the rules of the school". In a random drug search, no such "reasonable grounds" exist. Moreover, school searches must also be reasonably related in scope to the circumstances justifying the interference, and ''not excessively intrusive in light of the age and sex of the student and the nature of the infraction.

The quite old (1995) court case which apparently Trigg et al. based their decision is VERNONIA SCHOOL DISTRICT 47J PETITIONER v. WAYNE ACTON et ux., which was primarily based on the fact within that for the particular school district in question, "athletes were leaders in the student drug culture and concern that drug use increases the risk of sports-related injury". In reaching their decision in May, 2009, Trigg et al. offered no evidence whatsoever that this was the case in Douglas County schools. Or that any group, club, organization, or enity invloved in extracirricular activities were the main source of the drug problem in Douglas County schools. It would seem reasonable that if Trigg et al. had evidence that group(s) of students involved in extracirricular activites were, indeed, at the heart of the drug problem in Douglas County schools, they should have presented that data in support of implementing random drug testing only on this class or group of students; but they did not.

This June 25th, SCOTUS made another landmark ruling concerning drug searches of students in stating a strip search of an 8th grader violated her Constitutional rights. It does not seem a large leap of reason to compare the illegal search of one's person with the illegal search of one's body fluids. What is very impotant about this case - initiated by the ACLU - is that SCOTUS has become aware that schools are not constitutional dead zones.

I have, as of yesterday, FOIAed the Trustees of the Douglas County School Board as to just what legal opinions they employed in their unanimous vote to take the taxpayers into a quite gray area of constitutionality which the Reno ACLU has already expressed an interest in following. I doubt that Trigg et al. have the common good sense to review and possibly undo that which has been done. All it's going to take is one parent with a little courage to balk this set of ass-clowns and the Douglas County School District under "President" Trigg could become quite infamous in their collective stupidity.

Trailer Trash Feud Spills Out into Parking Lot

I'm not going to waste a whole lot of perfectly good protons on Alaskavania's trailer trash except to excerpt two recurring questions out of the article:
1. Was Palin a fresh talent whose debut was mishandled by self-serving campaign insiders, or
2. an eccentric “diva” who had no business on the national stage?
3. Going forward, does she offer a conservative and charismatic face for a demoralized and star-less party?
4. Or is she a loose cannon who should be consigned to the tabloids where she can reside in perpetuity with other flash-in-the-pan sensations?
OK - that was four questions. I was just checking to see if you had already skipped to the next planet-altering news.

Which is - SURPRISE! SURPRISE! - NevaDUH has its own brand of trailer trash. I just love the part where Goober's shill points out he is "not a man of great means" - completely passing up the opportunity to tell folks how they can contribute to his legal defense fund set up years ago for multiple contingencies like this.

What's this? More trailer trash: Michael Jackson tried to seduce Jane Fonda? Jeez....my hurl meter is now pegged and lights are going dim.....

Oh boy....now we have coast to coast, north-to south trailer trash....

That's it! I'm outta here....

No Knuckledraggers today....I'm a bit overtaxed as it is....
