Bye-bye Bernie....

'Ol Bernie just got 150 years at Elevenworth or Twelveworth (an old Groucho Marx joke). But as hard as I am straining here, I just can't seem to come up with a tear for the greedy, NYNY penthouse "victims" he fleeced.

Btw, did you know that Reid's TARP gave away $2.7 BILLION to the British rum industry? That's roughly 60% more than the whole state of NevaDUH received in the whole freakin' "stimulus". No, Reid didn't bother to read the stimulus; too busy raising money for himself.

I'm wondering if we should have a lottery to determine the date when the Jackson kid is going to get buried so the world can get back to business. Right now they are making too much money to even consider sticking him in the ground and returning the news outlets back to the business of news.

Speaking of "kids", will hanging out in Reno become a crime? "Believe It Or Not" participating in extracurricular activities in Douglas County could be a crime under the policy rammed through by President Trigg. The "policy" of drug testing 24/7/365 only applies to kids who try to do something for their school while the real druggies go untested. The ACLU is likely to step in and cost the Douglas County School District millions it doesn't have so Trigg has something to run for Congress on.

Speaking of another who won't be missed, I saw on CNN where he was hit in the head with a flying suitcase when the plane he was on blew a tire upon landing. Pitch that, dude! Now if we can just get rid of Patrick Thomas, Founder of Taxmasters and the punk that sings for a free credit report, we'll get some other obnoxious person to insult our intelligence and pitch something we don't need.

KNUCKLE BUMP OF THE DAY to (gasp!) John Boehner for mastering a four-letter word educated people have learned to exclude from their vocabulary. You'll go far like this, John. Also a four-letter word.

KNUCKLEDRAGGER OF THE DAY FOREVER hopes all hell breaks loose again so more die to prove him right.

There's a special place waiting for you, Chainey - and you're not going to need a warm parka to go there....

"Beels? We Don't Need to Reid No Steenking Beels!"

That $1 trillion "stimulus" bill that Reid rammed through in Feb.? He never read it. This health care reform which will most likely be the most far-reaching social change in this generation? Reid won't bother to read that either.... So much for the Founding Fathers idea of Advice and Consent; evidently Reid just doesn't believe in that part of our Constitution.

Now...for some quickies from around the outer solar system. Oh yeah; I forgot! That's us!

That Michael Jackson worldwide "Come Back" tour? Won't. Seems something snafued in a new death-defying dance routine. For one, I fail to miss what he contributed to humanity abd society and general that rates higher than Gov. Sanford....

Gov. Sanford's affair? Blame it on Obama.

The meaning of the next census? More Japanese internment.

What's wrong with the Infidelity Club? It's discriminatory.

KNUCKLE BUMP OF THE DAY goes to Pres O who will veto the "When Pigs Fly F-22".

KNUCKLEDRAGGER OF THE DAY AWARD Some crackpot actually said:
"...passage of clean energy bill will be as tragic as the death of Michael Jackson."
Everybody out there now can make that sound like Lurch of the Addams family. Obviously Lurch was smarter than even this.

Enstench Awarded GOP's Yellow Garter

No, I'm not speaking of the kind of garters a lady takes off her leg and gives to a man when he gets past third base. I'm speaking of the yellow garter snake which befits Enstench and his "Atta-Boy" cronies.
Ensign -- who took circuitous routes to and from the luncheon to avoid facing the media -- gave what senators called a two-minute speech to his fellow Senate Republicans, drawing a round of applause afterward that, they said, closed the issue in their minds despite calls from some watchdogs for an ethics committee investigation of the affair. [emphasis added]
Enstench, now having received the applause in this most clubby of clubs is certainly guaranteed a long-lasting standing of respect from them. FYI, FUX News lied to protect Enstench.

That is...as long as he can be re-elected. "Rumors" around the state have been that the Repugs are itchin' to sacrifice run Heller against Reid. If Heller really wants to be a Senator - and there's nothing empirical at all except GOP wishing to indicate he does - all he has to do is wait until 2012 when he could win the primary against Enstench in a walk. (If he keeps his zipper shut anyways)

Btw, Sebelius has some musings on the race against Reid. Ahhhh....NevaDUH - where the men are men and the sheep are nervous....

KNUCKLE BUMP OF THE DAY to Nevada blogger extraordinaire Jack Wood for catching this:?
Barney Frank has filed a bill that would eliminate federal penalties for personal possession of less than 100 grams of marijuana. [WBZTV]
It would also make the penalty for using marijuana in public just $100. Frank said:

“I think John Stuart Mill had it right in the 1850s,” said Congressman Frank, “when he argued that individuals should have the right to do what they want in private, so long as they don’t hurt anyone else. It’s a matter of personal liberty. Moreover, our courts are already stressed and our prisons are over-crowded. We don’t need to spend our scarce resources prosecuting people who are doing no harm to others.”
Could this possibly be the beginning of the end for Prohibition II?

KNUCKLEDRAGGER OF THE DAY
House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH), an avid lover of golf, has repeatedly used the golf course for fundraising purposes. Unlike the imprisoned former lobbyist Jack Abramoff, who famously used golf as “bait…to lure Republican politicians into his realm,” Boehner has repeatedly used golf as a means of giving lobbyists some face-time with him while raising money for House Republicans in the process. The Washington Post’s Mary Ann Akers reports today that Boehner’s PAC, Freedom Project, “spent a total of $31,474.11 on a golf fundraiser for friends, lobbyists and anyone else who wanted intimate tee time with the House’s top Republican” at the Ritz Carlton in Naples, FL last February, raising nearly a quarter million dollars for GOP candidates.
Hmmm...golf>good-looking>Repug leader>what else?

Jeez...Gov. Sanford Has Been Playing Hide the Wienie in Argentina the last 4 days

Y'all take it from here. I feel nauseated.

UPDATE: Yup - the Mark (not Fred and Son) Sanford has really hit the fan now.... "I don't know how this thing got blown out of proportion," Sanford said.

ROTFLMAO!!!! Will it be Ensign/Sanford in 2012?

Terrorists in U.S. Buying Guns and Explosives Freely

Well...not exactly freely; I suspect they are having to paying cash. Nonetheless, the GAO reports
People named on the government's terrorism watch list have successfully purchased firearms hundreds of times since 2004, government investigators reported yesterday. In one case, a known or suspected terrorist was able to obtain an explosives license, the Government Accountability Office reported. The study found that people on the list purchased firearms 865 times in 963 attempts over a five-year period ending in February.

Who cares? This was last week's news. Another Repug has wierded out this week.

KNUCKLE BUMP OF THE DAY goes temporarily to Sen. Chris Dodd:
I believe that, when my daughters grow up, barriers to marriage equality for same-sex couples will seem as archaic, and as unfair, as the laws we once had against inter-racial marriage. And I want them to know that, even if he was a little late, their dad came down on the right side of history.
Who knows what his stand will be next week?

KNUCKLEDRAGGER OF THE DAY Nawwww - that would be a waste of perfectly good protons....would someone just bitch slap this wimp?

Enstench and Goober in Race for the South Poll

Just when you think things can't get any darker - it goes completely black - at least for Gubber Goober. In the new LVRJ poll (yes, the same wight-wing-wag that supported Goober in '06) shows approval at 10%; disapproval at 57%. Mmmm....good luck in that primary next year, Goober.

Not to be outdone by another NevaDUHan, Enstench is now at 39% favorable; 37% "You stink!" and dropping like a lead slug in a prayer plate.

Which has Politico wondering "What's Wrong With Nevada". Sorry, dude, I just don't have the time to explain what a wasteland the place is generating competent politicians. Everything here in both parties is strictly governed by the Peter Principle

And, as Jason Whited reported last week, the Grand Old Purge is hard at doing what they do best - purging people. Say, isn't that what the Nevada State Democratic Party also does?? Both parties want your time and money - but stay the hell out when it comes to having a say in running things the way "ordinary" people see things.

In other news concerning NevaDUH elections, I had an interesting comment from Mike today about drafting Jessica Sferrazza. It would beat hell out of trying to run some person drawing taxpayer $$$ on a 100% Social Security Disability [sic].

Here's something that ought to be on everybody's "to-do" list this week: Boycott the coucous at Trader Joe's. Uhhhh....yeah....that's going to the top of my list.

KNUCKLE BUMP OF THE DAY goes to a poll, not a person:
Yet the survey [on support for government run health] also revealed considerable unease about the impact of heightened government involvement, on both the economy and the quality of the respondents’ own medical care. While 85 percent of respondents said the health care system needed to be fundamentally changed or completely rebuilt, 77 percent said they were very or somewhat satisfied with the quality of their own care.

KNUCKLEDRAGGER OF THE DAY - I'm not even going to waste the protons on Pat Buchanen again. Go there if you want - but why does MSNBC tolerate this overt racist....

Enstench Interns Want Out

Perhaps they know more than the MSM but WaPo Sleuth reports: Ensign Interns Want Out
It would appear that the interns in Sen. John Ensign's (R-Nev.) office either aren't pleased with their boss's philandering ways or are worried about what kind of future they have in his office.

The intern coordinator in Ensign's office sent out the following e-mail this afternoon at 4:02 p.m. with importance "high" attached to it:

Good Afternoon-

This is Jessica from Ensign's office. I am trying to find out if anyone has any openings for interns. I have some really great interns that want to relocate to another office. If you have anything or know of someone who does please let me know.

Thanks for your help.

Jessica L. Walton
Administrative Manager/Intern Coordinator

We tried contacting Walton at the phone number she listed on her e-mail and were routed to her voice mail both times. We left a message seeking comment.

Pompous Ass Enstench Rates WaPo Editorial

It seems the Enstench just won't go away although the cause of it is now in hiding from the MSM. There were two very pointed indictments of his lame mea culpa out today in the WaPo Editorial and the LVSUN. In a nutshell both indict Enstench for hypocrisy "above and beyond the call of duty" by applying his brand of morality on others while totally failing to abide by his own rules.

I suspect this is far from over for as the Sun says “In time the Hamptons will be ready and willing to tell their side of the story” which could indicate a possible fight in open court on defamation or other grounds by the Hamptons. The thing is - if Enstench is going to accuse the Hamptons of extortion he better be able to prove it which is what the Sun has challenged him to do in their own articles of indictment:
• Has Ensign contacted authorities about the alleged extortion? If not, why not?

• What other reason could Ensign have for revealing the affair?

• Were payments to the Hamptons, documented in Senate and federal election records, intended to ensure their silence about the affair?

• Was the subsequent employment of Doug Hampton at Ensign-connected political consulting firm November Inc. also intended to win his silence? Did Ensign help secure a consulting contract for Hampton from Allegiant Air, which is a significant contributor to Ensign’s campaign funds?
TPM is now saying the LVRJ is saying it was Doug Hampton going to the MSM that prompted Enstench's mea cupla
According to Ensign's aides, Doug Hampton had approached a television news network about the affair, prompting Ensign to go public. This could not immediately be confirmed.

If I have learned one thing in life - the hard way - it is not to get mixed up with religious bigots and zealots which are the embodiment of the AntiChrist.

I look forward to the Hamptons full story. At least they are not in hiding....

BREAKING: Ensign Admits Affair

CAPSULE from Politico:
Nevada Republican Sen. John Ensign has told colleagues that he plans to admit an extramarital affair, a senior Republican official tells POLITICO.

Ensign, who ranks fourth in Republican Senate leadership, planned to make the announcement on camera, to his constituents in Nevada, the official said.

The affair was with a member of his campaign staff, AP reported
Tsk, tsk, tsk on the trist, trist, trist, Senator Hypocrite. Are caddies considered campaign staff?

UPDATE from the LVSUN:
An aide in Ensign's office said the affair took place between December 2007 and August 2008, with a campaign staffer who was married to an employee in Ensign's Senate office. Neither have worked for the senator since May 2008. The aide spoke on condition of anonymity. The aide declined to comment on Ensign's political future.
WHEW! At least he wasn't trying to crossbreed with a Democrat....

California Joins Bankruptcy Fad

Not being a state to take a backseat to any of the latest fads or trends, California looks like the next "biggie" to compete with AIG and General Motors for a bailout. However, right now the master plan isn't going so well because, unlike GM or AIG, who wants to own California? (We taxpayers really wanted to own GM and AIG, didn't we????) Sure, it's the 8th biggest economy in the world - but it doesn't actually do anything like make cars or issue insurance policies now does it? Gubber Arnold is probably looking in the wrong place if he thinks DeeCee is a buyer. Try China or Saudi Arabia and then he can get some attention to save the state.

NOW - the Rs are opposing a war spending bill. worms.....

The other day Leon Panetta finally snapped and bitch slapped the former V.P. who thinks he is still the Psycho-in-Chief.'Ol Dickhead now has replied in true Godfather II fashion about Panetta
I like him a lot. He is one of my favorite Democrats, if I can put it in those terms. That may be the kiss of death for Leon, but I am very fond of him. He is a very talented guy.
All that is missing now is a horse head in Panetta's bed.

KNUCKLE BUMP OF THE DAY goes to Steve Sebelius who succinctly notes the Senate Majority Lardasser is AWOL on DADT:

Does Reid know that, as a senator, he’s entitled to introduce legislation? Look in the mirror, if you really need a sponsor!

Oh, that’s right: It’s an election year, and somehow, the Republicans have convinced the Democrats that the American people still firmly believe in discrimination in the armed forces, when nothing could be farther from the truth. We’d guess that most Americans agree with the late former U.S. Sen. Barry Goldwater, who said, “You don’t have to be straight to shoot straight.” Ooh rah, senator.

But even if they don’t agree, it’s the job of a leader to lead. And sometimes, that means getting out there in front and telling everybody else to “follow me.” You know, the way a gay platoon leader would, if he or she were allowed to serve in the first place.

I wish Gov. Guinn would announce his run for the Senate....

Draft Democrat Jessica Sferrazza for CD2

Let's face it: At present, the Dems have no real candidates to run against Heller in 2010. So maybe the public can draft one who has a real chance of winning in a real "grass roots" movement.

I'm speaking of a quite accomplished and articulate young woman named Jessica Sferrazza who today announced she might run for Lt. Governor. But why not think big and see if we could get her to run for Congresswoman in CD2? She is already a skilled campaigner and known well in the Reno area, has very broad credentials, and with the Dem voter registration advantage in CD2 could give Heller a helluva race.

If you'd like to see her run, drop her an email at sferrazzaj@ci.reno.nv.us and show your support. Below isher accomplishments from her website to compare with the other two "candidates" we now have:
Professional Biography:

Jessica Sferrazza was first elected to the Ward 3 Council seat in November 2000, becoming the youngest Council Member ever elected in the City's history at age 27. Since that time, Councilwoman Sferrazza has dedicated many of her efforts to revitalizing previously neglected areas of the City, with particular attention to the Wells Avenue corridor and, more recently, the Oliver/Montello area. As a result of the Councilwoman's efforts, both have undergone a remarkable transformation under her tenure. Her dedication to the revitalization of Wells Avenue, in conjunction with her continued prioritization of strict code enforcement, has resulted in the beautification of the neighborhoods in her ward. Councilwoman Sferrazza has also actively sought to engage the City's youth in civic life, and remains committed to improving government for the citizens of Reno.

Among Jessica’s many other accomplishments are:

· National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Community Service Award recipient in 2008

· "Top 20 under 40" young professionals award recipient in 2007

· United States Department of Urban Development “Most Valuable Partner in Home Ownership” 2007 recipient

· Nevada Women’s Fund “Woman of Achievement” 2004 recipient

· Nevada Humane Society “Community Animal Protection” 2002 recipient

· Initiation of a bond question to construct and consolidate a new regional animal shelter which received 60% voter approval in 2002

· Creation of the Affordable Housing Task Force in 2006, bringing together members of the business community and partners in affordable housing.

Bush Appointed Judge: Terrorist can sue over torture memos

Capsule:
A convicted terrorist can sue a former Bush administration lawyer for drafting the legal theories that led to his alleged torture, ruled a federal judge who said he was trying to balance a clash between war and the defense of personal freedoms.

White ruled Padilla may be able to prove that Yoo's memos "set in motion a series of events that resulted in the deprivation of Padilla's constitutional rights."

"Like any other government official, government lawyers are responsible for the foreseeable consequences of their conduct," wrote White, a Bush appointee.
How much better can poetic justice get than this? Judge White was appointed by Bush 43 in 2002. However, this ruling also opens up a whole new can of worms for Gonzo, 43, and Chainey. If this subordinate is responsible, are not his superiors also equally responsible? It also begets the question that if Yoo was acting in a criminal nature, why is the U.S. Government acting in his defence?

Special Knuckledragger Award

I'm not even going to waste the protons it takes to repeat the fecal material this prototypical Knuckledragger
has let come out out his mouth so read it being fully forewarned of its repugnanacy.

I guess what really bothers me is that in the 40+ years we have engaged in striving to approximate the phrase "All men are created equal" that a major news network will keep someone on their staff whose beliefs are equal to assassain James Von Brunn's actions. It seems a fairly easy thing to do to connect the dots between Buchanan's inflammatory rhetoric and Von Braun's actions. But MSNBC keeps him on the payroll which discredits every show he appears on.

Jeez....when will it ever end.....

U.S.S. Obama Dragging Two Huge Anchors

I can say with 100% confidence that Pres O has come out of the starting clocks with more energy, more ideas, and more stamina than any I have seen - and I've been a pres sports fan since 1962. The message of "Change We Can Believe In" resonated across socioeconomic classess and political parties to turn the helm over and steer a course 180 degrees from the hellbound steerage that had been pursued.

However, Pres O seems to have made two very large mistakes in the personnel he desperately needs to achieve that "Change": Nancy Pelosi and Boss Reid.

Right now, Pelosi polls lower than DICK CHENEY. Even
Limbaugh is outpolling Pelosi, fer Chrissakes.

In Nevada, Reid is a disaster all unto himself
Only 38% of Nevadans have a favorable opinion of Reid, with a 50% unfavorable number. For his 2010 campaign, only 35% would vote to re-elect him, 17% would consider voting for a challenger, and 45% would definitely vote to replace him.
Just why Pres O has allowed these two ass clowns to feed the MSM with negative stuff is far beyond my understanding of how DeeCee works. Frankly, I think he needs to take 'em out to the woodshed and come back alone...

Btw, the Texas Longhorns are on the way to the College World Series for the umpteenth time [Bracket] But being the #1 seed is not the best place to be. If you love baseball, it doesn't get any better than the CWS.

Heee's Baaack (well....sorta)

I've got some catching up to do with my veggie garden which is in a huge battle with the weeds right now. So I'm going to be light on the postings until I can get a handle on things. I'm having a real problem, though, in getting the t-bones to come up; and I used the very best "seeds" I could find out in the cow pastures.... Oh, well. It's looking like we will be able to grow enough to provide the Senior Citizens Center and the Food Bank here a lot of fresh groceries. So right now that comes first.

More important is following the Longhorn Baseball team to another CWS [providing they beat TCU this afternoon; ESPNU 4:00]. They have set a lot of new NCAA records this year including a 7 hour 3 min, 25 inning game. Now - that's baseball! If you like baseball, the College World Series is the best played all year - bar none!
