NevaDUH Gets "F" in Campaign Finance Transparency

SOS Ross Miller (D-Gubber Aspirant) is pushing for reform in NevaDUH's campaign finance disclosure laws which he says “Every organization that ranks disclosure puts Nevada at or near the bottom" (along with about every thing else). The major problem is that they are not required to be filed electronically which means crayolas or writing on cave walls like Neanderthals is OK if one wants to obfuscate their campaign finance reports. So, natch, a confederacy of dunces from both sides pop up against AB82 which Miller has sponsored:
“We have a hard enough time finding people to run for office,” Assemblywoman Debbie Smith, D-Sparks, said at a recent meeting. “I worry that this requirement may seem onerous to some people.”
Assemblyman James Settlemeyer, R-Gardnerville, said Tuesday that some people don’t have access to computers. “I don’t like to deter people from running,” he said. “That’s just my opinion, and why I’m voting no.”
Assemblyman Marcus Conklin, D-Las Vegas, said he agreed with making candidates file reports electronically, as long as the requirement begins in 2011. (Term limits would not force Conklin from office by then.)
So don't expect any speedy movement from the Leggies to come out of the Dark Ages and use computers and such. It's just too complicated for them.

However, this and this seem to be moving same-sex issues out of the Dark ages in NevaDUH. If so, then what's so hard about campaign finance reform?

It seems like Northern trailer trash can't go a day without pooping in her panties. Uhhh...Madame Gubber....the Depends go on the inside.... Which leads all too conveniently into RNC closes loop on Palin clothes. About time somebody did something, don't 'ya think?

KNUCKLE BUMP OF THE DAY goes to Veep Joe Biden:
"I remember President Bush saying to me one time in the Oval Office," Biden told CNN, "'Well, Joe,' he said, 'I'm a leader.' And I said: 'Mr. President, turn and around look behind you. No one is following.'"

KNUCKLE BUMP RUNNER UP goes to Eugene Robinson with his smackdown of George Will who is evidently in the early stages of Alzheimers:
What George Will did was cherrypick a sentence in a report, be very persnickety in the way he parsed his sentences, and end up making it sound as if the report had said the exact opposite of what it actually said. He was persnickety enough that his editors, who happen to be my editors, felt he didn't cross the line.

KNUCKLEDRAGGER OF THE DAY goes (again) back to Texas:
“Can’t you see that this is something that would make it a lot easier for you and the people who are poll workers if you could adopt a name just for identification purposes that’s easier for Americans to deal with?”
This is that person's name in Chinese: 繁體中文版 What's so hard about that?

Annuity said...

The key to a Vakuutus is finding balance between a high rate and flexible terms. The longer the commitment, the less flexibility, the higher the rate. To maximize growth, look for a fixed annuity with the highest rate and the least flexibility you can tolerate.
